Beyonce Knowles honored Michael Jackson with a performance at Wachovia Center on Friday night (June 26). The singer spoke about the deep mark the King of Pop left in her life. "If you know anything about me, you know that the reason I'm here is because of Michael Jackson," she said. "He taught me just about everything I know." A moved Beyonce took the stage and said, "He was my hero." She finished her performance by singing, "Thank you, Michael.”
Beyonce sued over $1M for cancelling show - 2009-06-22
Beyonce Knowles could face a $1 million lawsuit if she doesn’t perform at a Manhattan nightclub. The owner of M2, Joey Morrissey, has threatened to sue the singer for canceling a show in the place, for which she will be paid 200,000. "They said they were too busy with the launching of the tour and that they wouldn't have time to do the kickoff party," he told PageSix. "If Beyonce cancels and doesn't give us a new date, this hurts our credibility in night life" Morrissey concluded. In related news, Beyonce kicked off her I Am... Sasha Fierce" North American tour at Madison Square Garden yesterday night (June 21).
Beyonce to sing at 2009 BET Awards - 2009-06-17
Beyonce Knowles will make a gig at this year’s BET Awards, it has been confirmed. The I Am…star has five nominations, including one for best female R&B artist and two in the video of the year category for If I Were A Boy and Single Ladies. Actor Jamie Foxx will host the Black Entertainment Television ceremony, scheduled for June 28.
Beyonce offers $20-ticket seats on her US tour - 2009-06-01
Beyonce Knowles has reserved 2000 seats on her North American tour at a low price in order to help their fans. The singer is offering a number of tickets at $20 so more fans can enjoy her concerts in the US, which starts in New York on June 21 and finishes in Las Vegas on August 2. All of her shows have reserved the special price seats, except for her four-night residency at the Encore at Wynn Las Vegas. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.
Beyonce prefers natural curves to the gym - 2009-05-21
Beyonce Knowles prefers natural looks to gym muscles. The “Bootylicious” star, who is often praises for her enviable curves, says that she has to work harder on her body for that. “I’m not one of those people who doesn’t have to work at it,” Beyonce tells the June issue of SELF magazine. She explains, “I can’t eat what I want, and I can’t not go to the gym … There are no quick, easy secrets. The truth is, it’s a lot of sacrifice. It’s more about your mental strength than your physical strength.” However, she is more fan of natural shapes than a gym-style image. “To me it’s sexier when it doesn’t look like you go to the gym. If you look like you’ve been spending a lot of time in the gym, then it just looks like you spend a lot of time in the gym,” Beyonce says. “So I never want to get to that point where it’s not natural. I think it’s important to feel like a woman, as well as look like a woman.”
